Regarding the surface cleaning before painting, generally one type of rust removal (sand blast cleaning) or two types of rust removal (power equipment) methods are used for rust removal. Specifically, the standard cleaning method is to clean the surface in accordance with Sa21/2 or St3 established by ISO8501-1. However, when painting the exterior of gas pipelines or gas storage tanks with serious corrosion, if ordinary surface cleaning methods are used, perforations may occur and gas leakage may occur. Therefore, the internal gas is basically removed with nitrogen after the gas is stopped. . However, as mentioned in the anti-corrosion of the branch pipe table, if the painting can be carried out without stopping the air, the painting operation will become simple and low-cost.
Therefore, MINGHE has developed a surface rust removal cleaning method (hereinafter referred to as "light rust removal painting method") that only leaves a thin layer of rust when removing rust, which can ensure a certain degree of anti-corrosion performance.
The so-called light rust removal painting method is to leave about 100 thick rust layer during the rust removal operation. If the thickness of the rust layer is less than 100, you can use a special primer with penetrating performance in the rust. If you apply a normal thick build paint on the primer, the anti-corrosion performance can be ensured even after 3000 hours of SST. This is because in the remaining thin rust layer below 100, the special primer can completely penetrate into the rust layer and inhibit the corrosion of the remaining rust.
The slight rust removal painting method is only applicable to painting treatment when the internal gas of energy transmission pipelines or gas storage tanks is not released. In addition, experiments have shown that when the thickness of the rust layer is greater than 100 or the thickness of the special primer is greater than the thickness of the standard coating, the anti-corrosion performance cannot be obtained.
When this method is applied to the actual painting construction, the thickness of the remaining rust layer is measured during the slight rust removal and cleaning process to confirm that the thickness of the remaining rust layer is below 100. Moreover, there are also water blasting methods for rust removal. For example, painting the outside of gas storage tanks and using water spray and sand blasting to remove rust can effectively remove rust on a large area. Not only does the cost of rust removal are low, but there is no danger of fire caused by sparks when power tools are removed. . However, the long-term durability of the light rust removal painting method for more than 3000 hours of SST has not been confirmed. Therefore, it is limited to use when ordinary surface rust removal operations cannot be used depending on the specific circumstances.
