The Process Application Of Hot-Cold Iron On Castings

Hot iron (sticking) is an independent patching entity placed on the precision casting or die, or a non-metallic material insulation body placed outside the mold shell; it can achieve heat preservation during the cooling and solidification process of the casting and make the feeding channel of the casting unblocked .

Chilled iron is a metal body placed outside the shell of precision castings; in the casting process, the metal is often placed on the sand mold, sand core surface or cavity of sand castings; chilled iron can prevent shrinkage and porosity of castings and ensure castings Quality plays a more important role.

An OEM casting made by precision casting of silica sol process, the casting requires RT2 grade, 100% PT, VT full inspection, and the material is super-wire duplex stainless steel} From the appearance of the casting, the outline size is 700mm×500 mm×470 mm , The mass is about 130 kg; plus the pouring system, the mass is about 220 kg, which is considered a larger part in the precision casting of the silica sol process. The wall thickness of the simplified casting is about 20 mm (considering the amount of processing), which is relatively uniform. The wall thickness of the cube is 27 mm. Because the material is super duplex stainless steel, according to the particularity of the material itself, strict control must be carried out in the chemical composition, raw materials, furnace loading, smelting, pouring, and operation process. The specific contents of the process plan are:

  • ③ the casting body;
  • ④ the hot iron (sticking) on ​​the simplified body during the solidification process of the cylinder. The role of heat dissipation in the middle is derived from the principle of rapid heat dissipation of the sheet, which makes the lower end of the simplified form solidify quickly;
  • ⑤The chilled iron placed is cooled by circulating water, and the hose is connected to the circulation system to chill the metal entity placed outside the ceramic shell The lower plane of the casting cube;
  • ⑥ inner runner;
  • ⑦ straight runner, one is to play the role of runner, and the other is to play the role of hot iron (stick), so that the bottom plate forms a feeding channel from bottom to top;

In the application of hot iron (sticking) and cold iron, although the defects of castings have been solved, systematic test data has not yet been formed.
